What are your products made of?
The majority of Garden Furniture Land products are made from pressure treated softwood.
What is pressure treated timber?
Pressure treatment is a method of preserving wood, which involves using a vacuum tank and high pressure to force the chemical agents deep into the timber. It offers more protection than dip treatment, which only leaves a thin layer of preservatives on the surface of the wood.
Why don’t you sell teak or other hardwood furniture?
Although hardwood is very durable, it is also heavy, expensive and less sustainable than softwood. Softwood is lighter in weight, less expensive, more sustainable and, as long as it is pressure treated, it will last for several years. We believe that overall, treated softwood is a better material for garden furniture.
Do you offer any guarantees or warranties?
Many of our products are covered by a manufacturer’s 10 year guarantee against rot. Please refer to the individual product descriptions.
Can I paint my garden furniture?
It is not necessary to paint or stain pressure treated items, but you can if you wish.
I have noticed some small cracks in my product – should I be concerned?
Timber is a natural product and it is normal for minor cracks to appear over time. This is caused by changes in temperature and humidity making the wood expand & contract. Small cracks like this will not weaken your product and shouldn’t be a cause for concern.
Will my product weather?
Newly pressure treated timber has a light yellow or sometimes greenish-yellow colour. Over time it will weather and fade into a more natural-looking light brown, and eventually to a silvery colour.
Are your products sustainable?
Many of our products are made using a minimum of 70% FSC certified timber. Please refer to the individual product descriptions.
Which areas can you delivery to?
We deliver to all areas of mainland England, Wales and Scotland.
Do you offer free delivery?
Yes. There are no hidden costs for delivery.
How long will it take for my items to arrive?
Our typical deliver time is 3-5 working days from the time your order is placed.
My item is damaged/defective. What should I do?
If your item arrives damaged or defective, please email email@example.com. We may ask you to take photos of the damage and email them to us. We will usually collect defective items free of charge and offer you a replacement or a refund.
I have changed my mind. Can I return my purchase?
Yes. Under distance selling regulations, you are entitled to return your product(s) and ask for a refund without giving a reason — as long as you notify us within 14 days of receiving your goods. You then have another 14 days to return your product to us. You may have to cover the cost of shipping your items back to us.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit & debit cards, as well as PayPal.
How do I know my personal details are safe?
Our website is secured by Comodo SSL. This means that any personal details you enter (such as your name, address and phone number) will be encrypted and cannot be intercepted by hackers.
For extra security we do not collect or store your payment details – all payments are processed securely on PayPal’s website.
Do your products require assembly?
Yes. Your items will be delivered in a flat pack, with printed instructions and all necessary screws etc. included.
